Chipset and bios?

    ive been looking to upgrade my motherboard bios and chipset drivers, ive located the site which has the chipsets www.viaarena.com and there are two options VIA Hyperion Pro Driver Package or Retro chipset VIA 4in1 drivers i was thinking the retor thing but simce im a complete n00b i dont know can anyone help?

    Firstly, what sort of motherboard do you have? Without this, we can't really say anything.

    Secondly, do you need to update your BIOS for any reason?

    this may sound really dumb but i actually dont know my graphics card manfufacturers had a look at my system spcs cause im having trouble with my card to update my bios and chipset drivers and told me how to identify my chipset but thats it if you tell me how to do identify the motherboard ill tell you lol

    thanks a lot for the help peeps the tool was very usefull:) oh and how do i update my bios? i know its an ami bios and when i visit the page it just gives me information and thats it can anyone help?

    Is this a custom machine or a "mass produced" machine such as Dell, Gateway, etc.

    If it is a "mass produced" machine you need to download your BIOS updates from the manufacturers site, not the BIOS manufacturers site.
