Hey guys what up, im trying to get a new monitor, below is my Computer Setup, im not looking to pay nothing more than $300, here are links to a few monitors that i like, i like ASUS definetely, but i can take more opinios to get the best one, mostly for gaming.

I will prefer Wide screen, and i though that 1920x1080 is better since i have a 260GTX. Is goin to be use for gamin, multimedia, adobe, etc. I just want a great monitor, any suggestions.

thats the same one that i like, but here is my confusion, its said that it only has 1000:1 aspect ratio, and ASCR 5000:1 which i dont kno what that is, and i want to make sure this will give out great pictures even on dark areas of games, like caves or anything of that matter since Dead Space is very dark i dont want it to be even darker cuz of this monitor, but is my number 1 choice so far

I am not sure about warrantys for various monitors except I know Samsung is 3 years. It came in handy when one of my monitors died just a little over one year. :)

thats a good point too, i dont recall warranties for many of these monitors but one good thing i saw with Newegg is that one can be a special warranty for like $40 n is good for 2years simple replacement no matter what. I though that was neat

The one Frank4d "chose" doesn't have the 1000:1 (5000:1) ratio, the cheaper Asus does. The 1920x1080 one has 1000:1 (12000:1) ratio.
For what it means... Apparently, the monitor actually has a 1000:1 contrast ratio, but it can be somehow, through some technology, be virtually increased up to 12000:1.

FWIW, I have a Samsung with only 800:1 contrast ratio and no game is too dark with this. Not even Dead Space. (from the little bit I played it)

I would go with the Samsung or AOC. Contrast ratio is the most important thing for movies and games to show really good black levels and they both have DC 20k:1.

The AOC has the added bonus of the DMP processor.

so for now i guess the ASUS with HDMI is useless, since is contrast is nearly nothing, again it only has 1000:1 even when i read that i was worry for my movies and games, so if i go better like Samsun pr AOC then ill be on the good side

Looks good to me. 3 yr warranty too.
The only thing about AOC (to me) is I found the menu button a little hard to use/understand when I was shopping at local stores a few months ago. Maybe it just requires reading the manual first. :)
