Chrome Adware

I have an adware issue in Chrome. Tabs appear on their own and I get new windows behind my main browsing window. They all have some sort of ad for a game or some kind of software. Rarely, but has happened, an adult site.

So far, I've Googled and Binged the issue and worked in the extensions of Chrome. Any articles about Chrome adware were dated. I've run the two big free malware and virus finders. My Norton did a thorough search, found two viruses, but they weren't any problem. This thing is elusive.

This seems extremely Google specific so I'm reaching out for more clues or experiences.
