Got tired of the 'new' Firefox, it's new 'improvements' and all the broken extensions that made the older FF so desirable.

So I'm learning how to use Chrome as a replacement.

What extensions do users find useful for security? For general browsing?

    Thanks

    John

If that hasn't been stopped, it will be very soon. That uses the old VT formats that are incompatible with the new APIs. All old style links still work but they are trying to stop analysis on the old links and system and persuade everybody to use the new one, that automatically detects language & country rather than you chosing it

The extension links into smart screen data so adds an extra level of protection over & above the google safe browsing data
It tends to quite good on new phishing sites & malware sites
However no browser protection is any good without data, so apart from the automatic blocks, it also depends on users reporting unsafe sites via smartscreen/report a site or via google safe browsing report a site

The pop up simply means that you allow Microsoft smart screen to intercept all site requests & scan the sites to see if it is in the list of blocked sites. And consequently you allow them to block the site on your browser
