So to confirm: Despite having the Open in new tab option selected, you are still getting x amount of pages opening when you start Chrome?

No when I shot it I has shut down a few of the open pages it was eating more then that. I tried to do all the tricks and just cannot get it to shut pages. I just click it once and boom all these googles pages. I uninstalled and reinstalled went to setting messed around with that. So not sure what is left. I even debugged it too.

It's normal for Chrome to open multiple instances but I would venture a guess that an add-on or extension is the culprit for eating up the resources. Try running Chrome with all of them disabled. Click on Menu then Tools then Extensions and uncheck all that are enabled and restart the browser. Before doing that I would note if any are already disabled so you can put them back the same way they were after troubleshooting. If there are no problems with them all disabled then you'll have to go through the process of enabling them one at a time and restarting the browser to see which one is problematic.

Try running Chrome in Incognito mode and see if the problem still exists.
