I have had Chrome crash a number of times and have been able to resolve it by either uninstalling or changing the user folder, etc.
This time, it doesn't matter what I do, I get the window message "Google Chrome has stopped working" and can't resolve it. If anyone could help it would be very much appreciated, thanks.

I have never been able to update Google Chrome past Version 22.0.1229.0 m, for whatever strange reason. As soon as I would click in the address bar, I would get the Whoops! Google has crashed message. So, I went to http://www.oldversion.com/windows/google-chrome/ and downloaded the aforementioned version, and set my Vista machine to never ever update. So far, it has been fine. I had to also I also created a new profile following a specific set of instructions. I am afraid to ever update again, and I know Chrome is a million versions past what I have.

You can try uninstalling Chrome, with Revo Uninstaller Free, to see if it can completely wipe away all traces of Chrome. Then re-install Chrome.
