I own a Google Chromecast and recently started using it with an extra PC monitor I had lying around. The Chromecast is plugged into the HDMI port at the back of the monitor and the USB power cable in one of the USB slots on the side. My question is should I leave the device plugged in and receiving power all the time or is it better to unplug after use? Even when I turn off the monitor the USB slots still exert power so if it is plugged in, it is on. I have noticed the the Chromecast is hot after use, and warm at any other point if it is just plugged in.
I've read some conflicting reviews about whether to unplug or keep plugged in, so I thought I'd ask here. I really love this device and want to take as good care of it as I can.
