I was having trouble with my volume controls using Chromium on my Dell Latitude D430. My volume was stuck on high and if I tried to lower it, it turned off all together. A post in this forum I searched to solved it by giving commands to enter from within the terminal window within chromium. It also gave a script for how to save the changes so they would be there when I next booted the computer. But, every time I wanted to enter in that command sequence, it asked for a unix password before it will accept the commands. I doesn't recognize the google passwords I used in this Chromium install. So, how do you find what your unix/linux passwords are if you don't recall setting any passwords up in the first place.? Thanks.

    Chromium Browser?

What distro of Linux are you using? I suspect Ubuntu, but may be wrong.

Try using the same password you use to log-on as the "unix" password.

How much RAM have you got?
