I have XP and recently purchased a AcomData USB external hard drive. I can make backups to the external drive but (contrary to what I was told) I cannot clone my C: or image it to the external drive. I have used Norton Ghost, Acronis True Image and Power Quest. Any help? Thanks.

You should be able to make a ghost boot disk with USB support. What error messages are you getting?

I made the ghost boot disk but the program does not "see" the
external drive letter. Will not recognize it.

I can confirm doggard reply as I have cloned the 2.5" hdd from a laptop to an external hdd via the USB port and I bought Norton Ghost 2003.
