I think my Dell Vostro must have a proprietary block to cloning to a non-Dell machine. I have tried spotmau, Macrium,Aeomei, Microsoft and maybe another. I can get the clone to load on the new machines hard drive, but I cannot get it so I can access it. Is there any way to overcome this? I have tried it on an Asus and Sony computer.

you cannot use a clone from a dell computer to another. It violates manufacturers oem license from microsoft. besides different computer, different motherboard, different drivers. windows would have to be reinstalled if it was a legit transfer.

Thread is Closed because of the question asked concerning cloning from an OEM to non-OEM computer....

That's a violation of the terms of use of Windows- perfectly doable and a lifesaver to clone a failing drive to another drive for use in the exact SAME computer. Not at all acceptable with what you asked. And actually, can invalidate a perfectly good installation.
