I am running a VB.NET frontend that launches a QuickBasic program in a cmd.exe shell in Windows XP Pro. I need that DOS shell to close upon the user stopping the QB program so he/she can get back to the frontend. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help!!

If you type the command "exit" from within the shell, you will close the command shell. Also, if you are using .NET to open the console, I believe the console.close() method (or something similar... I'm not on my .net machine right now) will work.

I've got to say that this seems like a really clunky solution. Any way you can convert the program to something a little more modern?

I would like to know what your more Modern suggestion would be.
