Closing Running Programs

    I am trying to run a through scan disk but the computer says it has tried 10 times so I have to close some running programs. I unhooked mt cable moden, disabled my antivirus. I pressed control, alt& delete but in thisbox I have so many things running I do not know which items to end task the following running programs are:
    back web agent
    explorer
    osd
    avconsol
    rundll32
    cmgrdian
    rundll
    systray
    motmon & hp finder.
    Can someone please help me, also if you can email me directly it would be great [email protected]

    I do not know how to do this I am like a novice and know basically the basics.

    I do not know what to do once scan has been finished, how do I get back to my regular desktop?

    In normal mode I shut down everything except Explorer and Systray the same as with defrag....

    Just restart the PC when finished....

    Unhooking my cable, pressing control, alt & delete then end task on all items listed except systray & explorer. I was able ti finally do a through scan on my computer.

    (y) no need to unhook cable...just control, alt & delete then end task on all items listed.... :)
