I have installed HGTV Home Design & Remodeling software on my computer. The computer exceeds the minimum system requirements. I am having a problem scaling a drawing when I try to print it out. Per their tech support I need to make certain my computer has all the latest Microsoft updates. After doing that I need to remove the program and then temporarily disable my antivirus, spyware, and firewall. Reinstall the program and enable the antivirus, spyware, and firewall apps. My problem is that I'm not sure how to make certain that those applications are closed?
    Thanks

There are step by step guides here for most of the common antivirus or antispyware programs

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html

The steps are very much the same for newer versions or just about any program or suite.

You also should be able to find this information at the support pages for the specific antivirus/ antispyware program.
