Need help. Have been at this for about 6 hours. Cannot get rid of warning window stating cmd32.dll missing. I think I got rid of the virus but this lingers. Here is a copy of my HiJack logfile.

Can anyone please offer some advice on my problem? I have used adaware and spybot but both would not get rid of the startup warning message.

Run HJT again and check:

O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {62999427-33FC-4baf-9C9C-BCE6BD127F08} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: myfastaccess - {8C6685AB-43FF-4BF0-822C-03F03E0B47EA} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\myfastaccess.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MyFastAccess] C:\WINDOWS\system32\myfastupdate.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Upgrade Service] C:\WINDOWS\winupd.exe

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

Restart in safe mode Click here to see how

Open My Computer. Go to Tools, Folder Options and click on the View tab. Make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK"

Now find these files and folders and delete them.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\myfastupdate.exe <-- file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\myfastaccess.dll <-- file

Thanks for the info, I have been anxiously waiting for it. When I get home today I will try it out and let you know how it goes. It is the first time in many years that something this frustrating has happened.

It worked...thank you. Although, my puter froze endlessly for about 3 hours. I was a little concerned that something important was deleted. It seems that the spybot program was the culprit. Once deleted, everything operated like normal.
