cmos chech sum error ?

    hi there people,
    can you please help me,
    every time i start up my pc i get a error message that appears and the only way i can get the pc to carry on loading is to press f1,
    the error message is as follows
    cmos error check sum error,
    i also have to keep reseting the time and date on the pc and bios,
    i have bought a brand new cmos battery which is out of date in 2016,
    and i still got the error message can you help me out?

    thanks for your help what do you mean by,
    warning though you will have to reset your BIOS configurations ,
    do you mean move the jumper setting over on the mother board to eraze the memory?
    if so i have done this several times,
    hope to here soon cheers for now.

    when you pop out the battery you only have a few seconds to get a new one back in if you want to save your settings otherwise you have to set the time and date etc in the BIOS

    You need to use the MB jumper to reset the BIOS to default values, then enter the BIOS and make any changes desired and save the changes. That should fix the CMOS checksum errors.
