I am designing an html newsletter for my company, that will be sent out via email.

I know how to do hyperlinks and I know how to do a little Java.

We deal with legal cases...can I make a pop up box...so if a user clicks on a case, and I don't have a doc to hyperlink to...can i get a popup to say "No information available at this time"?

    Or am I smokin weed?

For a start I wouldn't recommend html newsletters for business use. Many companies email systems prohibit html email to help prevent viruses being spread.

For the same reasons pop ups annoy the hell out of people and lots of users block them, also for security purposes many company systems also prohibit java or javascripts

THe best way is to not have a hyperlink on the cases that have no docs. just put a message at the to[p of the page saying only cases that are underlined or in blue or such have links at this time, others will come later
