For the past few days, my computer has been running slower than usual. Movies that once played seamlessly in even the most Memory ravaged conditions, now cant even play a full scene without skipping and freezing. Unfortunately, thats the only thing ive noticed (Ive uninstalled everything else in hopes of somehow fixing this problem, but to no avail). Anyway, here's my Hijack log. See if y'can find anything fishy in there.

You have a Adaware and a suspicious entry in your log.

    Please do the following:

To check for a virus please visit one of the following sites for a free online virus scan. Even if you a virus scanner installed, this one gives you a second opinion, and it will be up-to-date which yours might not be.

    Symantec:
    http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/home.asp?j=1&langid=ie&venid=sym&plfid=23&pkj=TBOWYHGBYNCJEIMXQKC

    Trend Micro:
    http://housecall.trendmicro.com

In IE go to Tools -> Internet Options -> and delete Files and Cookies.

To check for and remove any Spyware or Adware that may be installed on your machine, download and install Adaware and Spybot. Then update each program before scanning. Fix ALL problems found by either of the programs. You may need to reboot and have the scan run at startup. Run it again to make sure all components have been removed. There is also an Immunize in feature in Spybot that should be enabled to protect against some installations of Adware/Spyware.

    Ad-aware and Spybot:
    http://spywareinfo.com/downloads.php?cat=sp#det

Then post a Hijack This Log to have someone analysis it for further cleaning/recommendations.

There it is, folks. Thanks for helping me up to this point, so just tell me if I still have a little bit farther to go.

P.S. Took a few virus scans and found a few things, thanks. ^_^

I think it would be a good idea to run CWShredder as well for good measure because of the about:blank entry.

    Download CWShredder

    http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe

Close all browser windows, open cwshredder.exe then click "Fix" and let it run.

Then restart your computer and post another log.

IMPORTANT! To help prevent this from happening again, you should install all the security patches and critical updates at Microsoft.

Ran another virus scan, found 2 viruses, fixed em. I'm STILL having the same slowdown problems (especially when playing media). Winamp freezes and exits out frequently, several files dont even play at all. Frankly, if anyone can suggest a player that's better than Winamp with most of the same features, it would really help me a lot. But other than that, slowdown is still there. Ad-aware, spybot: S&D, AVG virus scan, CWS shredder, and the internet ones have all been completed.

    Go here

Scroll to the bottom of the page and look for the Submit file section.

    Click on Browse

Navigate to the C:\WINNT folder and upload the .... MTAK.exe .... file and let us know what you find.

Also this ...O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MSConfig] C:\WINNT\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries\MSConfig.exe /auto... shows that you have some startops disabled. Please re-enable all disabled startups in msconfig. Resart your machine and then run Hijack This again and post another log please. We need to make sure there are no baddies hiding there.
