 When i power down my computer, it turns off like normal, but then it powers back up for 1 or 2 seconds, then powers off, then on again, then off....over and over and it won't stay turned off. This happened a week or so ago and i kept pushing and holding the power button til it finally came back on, then it powered down ok after that. I have a new hard drive that i purchased about 5 weeks ago but i'm guessing it's somewhere else in the computer(Dell Dimension 4600). Anybody come across something like this? Before i left for work this morning I had to turn it off on my power strip so it would stay off. I'll play around with it again when i get home tonight.

In addition to that, there is a virus that behaves like that. I believe that you have to have your computer on however. At any rate, you might run your antivirus software and see what it finds. It certainly can't hurt anything.
