When my Compaq laptop (Presario 755US; runs Vista Home) puts itself to sleep, it won't wake up doing the usual things--touch pad; power key; etc. I must do a hard shutoff and reboot. Any solutions out there?

When your computer left the CPQ / HP factory, was it running Vista, or did you upgrade?

How do you wake up your computer if the techniques you described fail?

    When did the problem begin?

I bought it with Vista already loaded. I did upgrade the RAM from 512 MB to 1.5 G.
I was not successful in waking up the computer. I had to do a hard shut down (push on/off switch for 5+ seconds), and then start up fresh.
It sees as if this has always been the case, not a new development.

    thanks.
