compaq presario keeps rebooting in xp

    will not boot to windows- tried to reinstall xp will not boot to xp cd-continually goes back to screen saying last known config, boot normally or safe mode help please

    go into safe mode with command prompt...

    log in... click start then run then type cmd...

    type chkdsk /r /f

    won't go into safe mode keeps rebooting

    sorry mate but your HDD is buggered..

    only option now is to remove the HDD and try connect it to a different machine to get some info off it.. then format it using some 3rd party software... only issue now is... is the HDD complletely gone..if so it needs to be replaced and remember.... back up.. back up.. back up...
