One of our new computers is using 8.1 and our antiquated database which uses a runtime version of Filemaker Pro 3 will not run. It does run on our home computer which also has 8.1 and it runs in Windows 7 and Windows 8. Tried all the compatibility troubleshooting options. Any ideas why it will run on one and not the other?

Are all of these machine running the same OS including the bit size, 32 bit vs 64 bit?

Sounds like the one may be 64 bit and the others 32 bit.

All the machines are 64 bit. It is very weird.

The database is currently running on 64 bit versions of Windows 7, Windows 8 and one computer with 8.1--- but we can't get it to go on the other 8.1

Since the current version is 13 you are lucky to get it run an any of the machines.

Other than being 8.1, what is different about this machine?
Is it a Pro version of 8.1?

Problem solved as I found that the dll files needed to run it are not on 8.1 so I have updated to a more recent version of Bookminder that runs through Filemaker 8.5. Still not current but it works.
