I've been having a lot of trouble with this lately. Basically, when I'm in the middle of
doing something the monitor would go into standby. After I would turn it back
on, the computer would shut down. However, sometimes I won't go into standby with the
monitor, the comptuer just shutdown. The timing of the whole event is never constant. I would say
sometimes it happens as soon as get into windows, and other times thrity minutes to an hour.

Now, there are a few keys things I'll like to note. I pretty much eliminated it being a
hardware problem, because it doesn't do it in safe mode at all and it still does it when I
just have the keyboard and mouse plugged in. Secondly, I can't open the display proprieties by
right clicking on the desktop or by the control panel. However, I can get to them fine in
safe mode as well. When I made user more accounts and turn on the guest account, I saw a
a command prompt vanish too quickly for me to screen capture. Finally, I 'm not picking up anything
on my spy ware programs. I did have norton installed, but I uninstalled it to see if that
was the problem.(Norton has caused headaches in the past for me) It didn't pick up anything either.

So what do yall think? Is it a virus or a flakey PSU?

    here is my HJT log.

    I'm running XPsp2 btw
