My pc seems to work fine but every time it has to restart or shut down i cant get past the asus boot screen and i've tried all the advanced options and the only one that seems to work is reformatting but id rather not have to do that every time my pc restarts or shuts off. Any Advice? People seem to think it could be a faulty motherboard but i need to know for sure before i buy a new one or if i even need too.

Good idea. Or maybe taking a working HD out of another PC and hooking it up temporarily, just to see if that fixes the issue or not. That will at least narrow down the issue.
