Do you know how to diskclean and defrag?
I know you said you just re-formatted but it can be a problem

And you can search for spyware using Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy.

How many icons down by the clock?

What version of Windows?

From your posts it sounds like you may have an overheating problem. Go into your bios and see what your cpu temp is running. If it is >60C @ idle, then you have an overheating problem. Another test for overheating is to take off the side cover and place a small desk fan blowing air into the case. If the problem stops, then you have found overheating to be the cause.
Some other causes of rebooting are poor quality ram, poor quality ps, driver conflicts, software / hardware conflicts. Go here and download a memory tester.

Does the problem occur if you start in safe mode? If it runs fine in safe mode, that points toward a driver / tsr problem. Post back with your results.

First you need to get the machine to stop restarting on errors so that you can get a BSOD and error message.
Go to system properties (right click MyComputer > properties) > Advanced tab > under startup and recovery click settings > under System failure make sure "Write an event to the system log" is checked AND that "Automatically restart" is UNchecked. Click "OK" and reboot.

When you get your next BSOD, write down the entire STOP message.
You can post it here for help and/or check it at this resource.

Further, if "Write an event to the system log" was already checked, go to your event viewer and look for fatal errors that correspond with the crash.
eg.

Do you have SP1 installed ?

We really do need a STOP error message. It will probably be something like 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL with reference to a file possibly.

When did this start ?
Have you added any hardware or software recently ?

You should download (from OEM not Windows update) and install updated drivers for your video card.

Hope this helps.
Please post Stop message when you get it.
