Computer crashes while creating rar

Hello a problem I have when I add large files to an .rar archive my computer crashes and sends me to a blue screen. When I mean large file its over 100 mb's I have to split a file lets say thats over 1000 mb into 100 mbytes per file...

My computer basic specs: XP second edition, 1 Gb ram, 3.2 Ghz ...

Use XP's built in compressed files feature instead of Winrar .. and see if it still crashes

Right Click > Send To > compressed (zipped) folder

What do you mean by crashing .. computer restart or winrar closes
