My friend got his Christmas gifts early for some reason. Anyway, he got a new mobo, video card, and CPU.

He knows what he's doing, so installation was simple enough. However now that it's all together, his computer is detecting multiple objects. Such as.. 2 video cards. There's only one in there though.

When he attempts to add hardware, he get's the error - "An error occured during the installation of the device. Access is denied." or something like that.

any ideas?

I think we need more information. With many video cards it is normal for "two" cards to show up in Device Manager usually the same card is listed with one as secondary. So is that what is happening or is it something else. When does the error message come up? What is he trying to install? What's the OS?

Yes, we are going to need a bit more information.

Makes/Models of Motherboard and Video card.. OS.. etc.
