When I am running my computer and I leave it to defrag or virus scan the whole computer freezes. The mouse stops moving and the only way to turn it of is hold the power switch.

I installed a program to increase and decrease the size of hard disk partitions and it made the computer not load some of the time. Some times it would load and others it would get stuck on the boot at the Detecting IDE drives. I managed to get it to log on and I got the BSOD. I then logged on and it took ages to load and I resored it to 3 days ago before I installed the Partition Manager. Then ever since it has been freezing.

    Any Ideas.

    Thanking In Advanced Jack.

No, At the moment the CPU is running at it's rated speed of 2.2GHz. I did make this higher and got 2.35GHz but I lowered it back to 2.2GHz

Try going to C:\Windows\Minidump and Zip 4 or 5 minixxxxxx-xx.dmp files or less if you don't have that many (x=numbers). Post here as a ZIP or RAR file. We can analyze them and try to find the cause of the BSOD.

You have to save it as a ZIP or RAR file. Select the ones you want to attache then right clicking one of them should give you the option to Send to Compressed (zipped) folder.

Hmmm... one of your two logs shows the date as Jan 1, 2002, so that is telling me your BIOS may not know what day it is. If this is a very old PC, the CMOS battery could be failing which can cause issues.

The other log shows a problem with "ha10kx2k.sys" which is a Creative Labs sound driver. Your Creative drivers appear to be from 2003, so you might want to see if installing later drivers for your sound card will help.
