I have a powerful pc, but with some games, my PC will completely lock up. Most commonly, it is a multiplayer game which is also openworld. So far, it is doubted to be related to the graphics card or overheating issues. All help is welcome and much appreciated.

You provided no description of your "powerful pc", so please do the following in it:

Download and save the tsginfo.exe file.
After it's been downloaded and saved, double-click it to run it.
Information about your computer will appear.
Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the ENTIRE text here.

What is the brand name and model number and wattage of the power supply?

I'm not a hardware expert nor a gamer, so be patient until someone here who is replies to you.

If you suspect overheating issue let's try this first,
download and install bellow program to measure temps:
NOTE: download setup, not PRO version.
https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html

Once installed it must be ran as Administrator to be able to read hardware.

For your test to be accurate you are supposed to run the game until you reproduce the problem you're having.
Then press windows key to minimize game and look at what hwmonitor says about temps.
take a screenshot and share it here.

Alright, I found the issue on my own. The cause of my grief was an unstable and weak internet connection to my computer. I thank you for your time and help none the less.
