Before starting install do a ctrl-alt-del to see if any TSR programs running in background. If so, shutdown all, but EXPLORER by doing C-A-D, end task - this will give you a clean install of software.

When you freeze, is it possible to do a single ctrl-alt-del to see what may not be responding or if there is an isset error?

    Hope this helps.

    Hiya

Also, lets have a look at your 'behind the scenes' programs.

Go to Run and type MSINFO32. If you get an error Programs | Accesories | System Tools | System Information.

On the left choose Software Enviroment, then Startup Programs. Copy/paste here. If you cannot, then Action | Save as text file and copy/paste that way.

    Regards

If your running Windows ME, this is usually the cause for freezing or failed software and/or hardware installs.

If your not running Windows ME, what Windows version are you running?
