computer freezing during boot up and also after successful booting even.

    i have windows xp pro,pentium3,20gb hdd,128mb ram.
    my computer freezing while the black screen of windows xp comes.i am pressing reset button 3 or 4 times to fix this
    .it also freezes while other programs running.i just reinstalled windows xp to fix this
    but the problem is still there.my device manager shows no problem with my hardware.
    it never freezes while i play games like counter-strike even for 4 or 5 long hours.
    no virus found in my system.i scanned with norton 2003.
    i dont have much computer knowledge.
    plzz help me as soon as possible.i'll be grateful

    my computer is on a college LAN.all my friends have same computer as mine with same video drivers and they have no problem.i didn't have problems also a week ago with same video
    driver.i think updating will not help.plzz reply

    could be a hardware problem too. might be a bad cpu or a power supply

    it doesn't matter if they have the same setup, yours can still get corrupt.

    without you testing things I have no idea what it could be. if it freezes on sttrup but it doesn't when playing a game then something is messed up. that is almost backwards.

    canyou replace the power supply or cpu? if they have teh same computer just do a swap for a few of those things. just to see if it works.

    i changed power supply but of no use.no fan problem is also.plzz help me.updating drivers didn't help also.plzz help

    are this dllhost and svchost causing problems???i recently formatted my comp and made a clean install of windows xp.
    it worked fine for 1 day only and the problem is now there again.it's still freezing.i pasted my hijack log above.plzz reply
