My computer is freezing whenever I try to start it up in normal mode. The only way I can use it is in safe mode. I have a laptop and whenever I plug the power cord in the computer freezes. Restore points are not working. I cleaned my computer of spyware and it didn't help. Pc-cillin isn't working properly so I can't do a virus scan. Please help I'm not too good with computers.

If your power supply did not come with your computer:

Is there any possibility that you may have the positive and negative reversed on your power supply? The output ends are adaptive on some to fit different holes and even if it is the right hole the poles may be plugged in backwards.

Or, if it is multi use do you have it on the right voltage selection?
