I am running windows me, I got a new digital camera a few months ago,
I have alot of pictures downloaded from my camera, and untill a few days ago
it ran fine, now when i click on a program icon it takes a few minutes for the
computer to even respond and open, so i recently bought(over the net)
registry mechanic. Could it be that i have too many pictures on here or
do u have any suggestions as to what could be the problem..i dont know what to do and im frustrated i dont want to delete all my pictures..
    thanks in advance....

Need specifications on your system. Also need to know how much hard disk space is used and how much free.

Next step: Go to www.download.com and do a search for AdAware. Download the program, do the updates and then scan your system for parasites.

Next: Go back to www.download.com and do a search for Spybot Search Destroy. Download it, do the updates and scan your system again for problems.

Check the dates in your antivirus to see what the date is for the virus definitions. They should not be over a week old. Let us know.

Get back to us with this information.

You'll have to check the anitvirus software's documentation. All antivirus software offers you a chance to see the definition dates; but, they are all different. I've never seen the one you mention and have no familiarity with its UI.

With as much adware as you have on your system, it is likely you have a virus, too.

Visiting questionable sites and clicking on questionable links in e-mail of unknown origins will reward you with misery. If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.
