Hi, Everyone. I have just built a new computer and having a bad problem. Randomly, while in game or in desktop, my display will go black, All sound will Freeze and internet connection drops but pc stays on with hardrive activity. The only way to fix this is to turn off pc and reboot. I have had this problem for quite some time even with my older pc build. The only hardware that transfered from old to new is the power supply, operating system, hardrives and video card. However, i have tested another power supply and a new gpu and still the problem persists.I have all the latest drivers and the newest updates. The only thing left is the harddrives but in my experience it wouldnt cause this because this problem has occured even in bios. All temps are fine as well. When i made the transfer i whiped the drives and installed a fresh copy of vista. My friend purchased all of the old hardware besides the hardrive and psu. He is also using the old gtx 280 and has no problems. I just cant figure it out. Thanks for any help someone can give me.
My Specs: Intel core i7 [email protected] 3.2ghz
    asus rampage II extreme
    gtx 280
    2x raptor 300gb in raid 0
    corsair 12gb DDR3 pc1600
    xion 1000w psu

Could be many things>Registry corrupted>virtual memory is corrupted>running more than 1 virus programs>Vista needs at least 1 gig of ram>defrag drive. Hit ctrl-alt-delete keys at once you should see programs that are running>close programs

Thanks for the reply. The system specs above is the pc thats giving trouble so i dont think im short on ram but the other things are good to check. I just dont understand how i could build a pc with almost all new parts and still have the same problem. The only thing that i used out of the other system is the hard drives and power supply. I reinstalled windows vista 64 ultimate when i made the changes. Any further advice please let me know.
