Computer gets stuck on Motherboard (dell) splash screen

Hi all,

I am having a problem with a month old new computer I just got and I updated my BIOS+performed windows updates, the install went well, but every morning/the following day when I turn on my computer it hangs at the dell motherboard splash screen. I have to turn it on and off 7 or eight times, and sometimes when I go into the F12 boot menu, and select any option, the screen is black.

I was eventually able to run a hardware and pre-boot test and everything came back clean. Immediately after this I was able to log into windows. I unplugged all USBs on startup (even the monitors), and that isn't what is causing the issue. I also reset windows and reinstalled it while keeping my files and the problem persists.

The funny thing is, after I'm able to log into windows after my 7-8 attempts at powering off and on, it works fine. I can shut it off, and when I turn it on it boots like normal. Same if I reset it. The problem returns if I turn it off overnight and turn it on the next day.

Not sure where to go from here, every morning I find myself repeating this same process of having to turn my computer on and off again. Can't roll back to anything since I just reinstalled windows. Should I attempt rolling back the BIOS now that I'm finally logged into Windows? Or try reseating the CMOS battery first?

Any advice on what to do would be helpful. As I've thrown the box away and it's going to be a bit harder to send it back.

According to the log, it's associated with THIS Dell XPS 8940 desktop PC which was purchased less than 2 months ago and came with Windows 10 Home 64-bit.
According to its product specifications section, it came with either a 360W or a 500W power supply.
I may be wrong, but the powering on and off 7 - 8 times to get that PC working sounds like a power supply issue.

@12FindersKeepers since this is a new machine and under warranty, I would suggest going to the link Frank added to your computer then use Contact Technical Support to start an Online Chat with them. Use the Issue not Listed option to get the support options.

if it is deemed to be a power supply issue, they will send a tech out to you …typically within 2 days according to your warranty
