Computer hanging up again

Again another hang-up and reboot. I was trying to do the cmd chkdsk /f /r c: and I get this notice:

C:\Users\Peter>chkdsk /f /r c:
Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges or
the disk may be locked by another process.
You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode
and make sure the disk is unlocked.

How do I run this? I'm thinking could maybe it be the browser I am using? Using Brave (chromium based)

Looks like I was able to run that command. It's going to be hours and hours on this.
