Hi! I would appreciate any help you could give me. For the past few weeks, my computer has been booting slower and slower. It is now taking 10-15 minutes to boot to a usable state. I haven't added any new programs in the last few months. I did add WinCleaner OneClick Cleanup about 2 days ago thinking that it might help, but it did not. I know it must have to do with the number of start-up programs there are, but since this just started recently, I don't know what has changed. And I cannot remember when I upgraded to IE7, but I'm fairly sure it before this problem started (I don't think it's related).

Thank you for your help! Here is my HiJack This log:

First go into your Device Manager, under IDE ATA/Atapi Controllers, Primary IDE Channel, Advanced Setting, check that your Current Transfer Mode is set to Ultra DMA, and not to PIO.

Thank you for your reply! It is already set to Ultra DMA Mode 5. What should I check next? It boots more and more slowly each day.

Do ya'll clear out your temp files regularly? Also, are your hard disks getting near capacity?

I have a 38.2 GB hard drive with 27.0 GB free. I clean the temp files no less than every two days...usually once per day. I do a lot of work on the internet, so I clean out the files pretty often. I haven't solved the problem yet. If I find a solution before someone here helps find one, I'll be sure and post it.
