For the past year, two out of the three computers in my house have connected to the internet through a router (+ the main computer which connects as well) and worked fine. All three computers connect to the internet. Recently, some settings were likely accidentaly changed that have affected one of the computers (connected through the router). The main computer and the other computer are able to connect to the internet, but this one isn't. It's using Windows ME (while the other two use Windows XP, but this isn't a problem). All the hardware is connected correctly.

I'm wondering if someone could help me figure out the problem. I've looked at the properties for the network connections and everything seems to be how it should be, but I really don't have much experience with this.

The reciever on the problem computer has a light that is blinking. Normally it should be a solid light. It should go solid as well once it has a connection to the internet.

    Router: U.S. Robotics, USR8011.

I'm going to check out the U.S. Robotics site as well.

    Thanks!

Some more information would be helpful.

    1. How do the IP addresses compare between the computers. For example, are the ones that are working have something like 192.168.x.x and the one that doesn't some other IP scheme.

    2. On the problem computer, can you ping all the other computers

    3. On the problem computer, can you ping the router

    4. On the problem computer, can you ping an external site by IP address

    5. On the problem computer, can you ping an external site by name.
