For the past few weeks, my computer has been constantly asking to perform automatic updates, each day, sometime more than once a day. Something seems awry. I'm currently doing a Quick Scan using Malware Bytes, with latest definitions, haven't found anything yet. Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening?

Are you referring to Windows Update/Microsoft Update or are you referring to one of your programs?

Malware Bytes didn't find anything with both the Quick and Full Scans...

When choosing to install, the following windows pop up...

The Updates won't stop. Every day, many times per day, for weeks now.

Click the Windows Update/Microsoft Update link in the Start menu

    or

load an Internet Explorer webpage, then click Tools - Windows Update

so the Windows updates webpage can load.

Once it loads and settles down, click the Custom button.

Wait for the scanning process to finish.

When the list of high priority updates appears, submit a screenshot image of that page.

If there are too many entries to submit in a single screenshot image, scroll down the list.

You appear to have a very old HP/Compaq computer.

What model name and model number is it?

If you don't know for sure, advise us what the product number(P/N) or model number(M/N) on the sticker is.

I have found that when one encounters the ".Net Framework" errors, the fastest fix is to do a clean install of the OS and then updates. Then get you programs installed and data restored.

Make sure you run a backup before the clean install of the OS.
