Hello, don't know if I'm in the correct forum, but my computer keeps on crashing. It either freezes and I need to reboot or I get the blue screen, notifying me that maybe a hardware or software is not properly installed and then it crashes. Don't know what to do. Between yesterday and today in less than 3 hours I have had to restart my computer about 10 times. Any help will be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!

have you added anything to the PC recently - new software , drivers or updates

what information is on the blue screen

    have you tried a restore

what windows version are you running

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Restore PC to an Earlier Date & Time

    Go Start>>All Programs>>Accessories>>System Tools>>System Restore

    • Click in the radio button Choose a different restore point
    • Click Next
    • put a tick in Show more restore points
    • Pick a Date before this happened
    • Click Next
This should restore the PC to that time & date

you may need to use safemode to do the restore. As the PC starts keep tapping F8 - a menu will appear - choose safemode

Hello etaf, no I have not added anything new. I think that my pc is not updating automatically, with new upgrades. It says the feature is turned off, I've tried numerous times to turn on and it does not.
I receive a blue screen saying " a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
    IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
    etc.

I have Window Vista Home Premium

I am going to try your suggestion, to prevent it from crashing, but I think that something else is wrong as it is not updating any new updates. Thank you.

I tried the System Restore and I received an error message

The disk OS (C) has errors.

Windows has detected file system corruption on OS (C). You must check the disk for errors before it can be restored.

Try to check the disk, but my pc shut down once again. What do I do in this case? Thank you.
