    Hi,

My computer keeps shutting down. It happens every time I am on the computer.

    Information on my computer:

OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
    Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600
    System Manufacturer Dell Computer Corporation
    System Model Latitude D800
    System Type X86-based PC
    Processor x86 Family 6 Model 13 Stepping 6 GenuineIntel ~598 Mhz
    BIOS Version/Date Dell Computer Corporation A11, 9/3/2004
    SMBIOS Version 2.3
    Windows Directory C:\WINDOWS
    System Directory C:\WINDOWS\system32
    Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume2

The System Error Log is below:

    Error code 100000ea, parameter1 819ba3a0, parameter2 8215ef60, parameter3 f8975cb4, parameter4 00000001
    Error code 100000ea, parameter1 81946508, parameter2 81fe41d8, parameter3 f8969cb4, parameter4 00000001.
    Error code 100000ea, parameter1 8181c020, parameter2 820a8a98, parameter3 f8969cb4, parameter4 00000001.
    System Error Error code 1000007f, parameter1 00000008, parameter2 80042000, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000000.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the problem as I don't know much about computers.

    Please Help!!

is the PC hot at all ?
    are all the fans running?
do you get any blue screens - reboot - or just shutdown?
does it happen when you do any particular or just very random?

Thanks for trying to help. I am very frustrated with this problem.

My computer just shuts down, no blue screen, etc. and it is random. The computer is warm. Should I hear the fans running?

Sorry, I don't know much about computer

yes you should hear fans running
there will be one at the back for the PSU
and one inside for the CPU
you may also have case fans

how old is the DELL PC ???

how long will it run for typically a few mins or a few hours

    Turn off Automatically Restart:

    • Right click on My Computer
    • Click Properties
    • Click Advanced
    • Under "Startup and Recovery", click Settings
    • Make sure the box next to Automatically Restart is UNchecked

Now you should get blue screen errors similar to what you found in the System Error Log.

Post the error name, error code, parameters, and file (if any) that is causing the problem. Post that stuff and it'll be easier to troubleshoot.

The computer was purchased December 2004. I can hear the fan running. I'm not sure how you tell if all fans are running. Their is no specific time frame that the computer shuts off. It is random. Automatically Restart is and was unchecked. I posted the errors previously. Here they are:
