This has began today. I turned on the computer and one of the CD drives flash and makes a beeping noise, and that's it. The screen remains blank and nothing happens for the flashing light and beeping noise.

Can a faulty CD drive cause this? It has also been quite hot here... melted circuitry?

My computer is XP Pro BTW, and has two other drives (two DVD drives).
