Computer making beeping sounds non-stop (no picture)

    I got a new computer, an i am trying to get some files off my old computer (my old computer runs xp im pretty sure) but when i try to turn it on (my keyboard, mouse, monitor are all connected), but when i turn it on, all it does is makes beeping sounds non stop. I get no sound or picture on my screen...this has never happened before, and i have never had problems with any hardware, viruses or loose wires...please help!!!

    Remove and reseat the memory.

    Remove and reseat the video card.

    soo, i just take them out, then put them back in??

    Yes, just take them out and put back in. Some people take a soft cloth and dampen it with isopropyl alcohol, "gently" wipe of the gold contacts, let them dry and put them back in.

    I removed both of my RAM, and gave them a good dusting, and also gave the 2 slots a good dusting...it is now working...thank you both :)
