Computer Names

on our network i am able to ping computer names and get their ip address. for instance, i can type "ping PC_104" and the the ip address will be resolved. but say i had the ip address and wanted to know the computer name, how would i do that? *can* i do that?

You can use ping -a followed by the ip address to get the information.

thank you for the reply but that only gives me the host name not the netbios name. it is the netbios name i am looking for.

OK, how about nbtstat -A followed by the ip address. Does that do it?
