If I put more than 1gb of ram in my computer, it will boot up but turn off by itself within about 15 seconds. This wouldn't be a problem if 1gb of ram wasn't so slow. The ram i am using came from the exact same pc as the one im currently using because i just switched the motherboards, so i know that the ram is correct. I am running windows vista btw. Please help thank you very much!

if you just replace the 1GB with the new ram does it work

for Vista to run anything like well - you need 3GB/4GB of ram

does the other PC work ?
and if so does it work with this ram ?

whats the make and model of the motherboard

whats the make and model of the ram

try going to
www.crucial.com
and run the memory scanner and see what it reports
