I keep having problems with the computer freezing up and the Internet being slow to load as well as Scroll down with. I have tried Uninstalling some things but it hasn't helped. I ran AdAware and removed some problems it found but nothing has helped me out. What can I do to get things working better for me?

    Download cwshredder from here

    http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip

Close all browser windows (including minimized windows)
    Run cwshredder

When it is finished Reboot your computer.

    Download "Hijack this" from here

    http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/

Once you have unzipped it and have it running, Hit the scan button, when the scan is finished the button will change to a save log button, click it and then a notepad window will open, you need to copy and paste all of the log contents in here and someone will look at it for you.

I am new to the HJT Logs, so maybe you would like to wait for someone with more experience, all I can see from your log that needs fixing are the following.

Run Hijack This, and check the following entries :

    O16 - DPF: {41F17733-B041-4099-A042-B518BB6A408C} - http://a1540.g.akamai.net/7/1540/52...meInstaller.exe

    Then select fix/checked

I am running Windows 98 SE. Yes I have an Anti-Virus program. I have Norton Anti-Virus 2003. No I haven't run it recently to check for a virus. No I haven't run a Scan Disk for awhile and no I haven't run a Defrag for several weeks now. I just forget and don't always have time to do it like I should. I am connected to the Internet with a DSL connection. Using Enternet 300 to connect and PPPoe I think it is. Hope that helps!

    Regards,
    Jeff

Make sure to check your Norton for updates and run a virus scan.Run your scan disk and dfrag now.

Run this program, spybot and destroy. It is a very good spy catcher. Be sure to check for updates before you run a check.

My first guess is that your mstag needs updating (tho' of course I can't tell what version you're running)
    http://www.msgtag.com/support/update/#whyupdate

The second possibility that comes to mind is a corrupted sygate or an interaction between sygate and mstag.

However - the first thing to do is to get rid of these two

using Internet Properties > Settings > View Objects - or use HijackThis to remove them and reboot.

Yeah I ran that CW Shredder thing and fixed the files you told me to. I just updated the MSTAG too because I didn't have the latest version. I hope this will help because I still had problems with it freezing up and sometimes being slow.

Also clean up your internet cache:
Delete Temp files, Cookies and offline content. To do this,
    Open Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/delete cookies/delete files
    select off-line content/clear history.
