I have tried running trend micro online virus scan and as it gets to 75% done I get this message that pops up. Windows must now restart because DCOM server process launcher service terminated. The system gets a 1 minute shut down timer and tells you to save any work. Then my computer just restarts.

Do you think you have a virus on your PC? If so, try Spy Sweeper's free scan, they were they only ones that found a "Virtuemonde" issue on mine.

I have no clue what is wrong ... I suspect a virus/worm or trojan cause there is one out there that restarts your computer.

The DCOM issue has something to do with the computer bring pinged from the outside when the firewall has not been enabled. The issue is actually the program you are using to scan, not your PC. That's my guess. Here is a URL I found reference the issue: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/892504

ok went to the link and mine is already set to automatic so guessing that is not it.... downloaded spy sweeper and it did find a major spyware threat it was ufp 007 spy and zedo cookie and a few others I deleted everything it found and still get the shutdown. I have tried trend micros online scan again and still at 75% it gives me the shutdown message, any other suggestions?

I don't see where that link is the same as my problem ... my computer does not restart at bootup.....well I shut down my computer and now it says there is a resource conflict with my network card...I cannot get on the internet at all now.....I have not been on the internet for 2 days now and it has not givin me the shutdown message so it has something to do with the internet apparently.
