Computer screen won't show anything

    whenever i start up my computer, it starts up fine but it won't show anything on the screen (im using a vga cable and the os might be win 7) also the computer won't allow any keyboards or mouses

    Hi and welcome. Has this pc with the screen-mouse-keyboard, worked in the past?
    How old is the pc and we also need to know what operating system is installed

    hi, yes this computer worked in the past and it runs windows 7
    i don't know how old it is but i do know it came from a school and its a dell optiplex 755

    Have you made any changes to the pc?
    When did it last work for you?
    For the screen to not work - unplug the pc from the main electrical supply > check inside, then remove the video card and reseat in in its slot.
    Have you tried the keyboard and mouse in another USB slot?
    You realise that this pc is about 10 years old?

    The dell optiplex 755 has built in graphics unless an add on card was installed

    That could be anytime from last week to 5 years ago. Can you narrow down when it last worked.

    Apparently the mouse and keyboard stopping is a known problem

    I also discovered that only XP and Vista are supported on the 755

    So if you are running 7, that could be the problem.
