I took this computer in on Saturday to have a new video card put in. Old one failed. Brought it home and the OS seems to be totally messed up. Go to IE, get on certain sites and the links won't work. Decided to install SP2 for Windows, still nothing works right. Tried to do a system restore and when I click on it the window opens and it is blank. Checked users in control panel, no users, no administrator, another blank screen. Trying to avoid reinstalling the OS. Will have a lot to lose if I do. Did a hijack just in case it may have something to do with that. Will post below. Hope someone can help me here. Oh and also realized my "find" box doesn't work either.

First of all, dont re-install, repair, that way nothing is lost.
Second, if this problem occured after your card install, it would be wise to take it back to the computer shop and ask them to fix it. They may have baked your ram.

After I posted this morning I did some other searches on the forum. I had already run a list of dll's but nothing worked. On my search I found two other dll's to run and once I ran them all the website links started to work again, my system restore came back and so did my find box. :)

I'd still like someone to please check out my hijack file. I know there must be things on here that don't belong. The system is still sluggish. And I think they did fry my ram. I had 128 and now only have 96. Will look into that.

    Thanks,
    Patty
