Built my first custom PC and I've had way too many problems with it.

Now finally, after several hardware failures I installed windows.

But it wont boot, it stops at "Verifying DMI Pool Data"

I've tried a lot of things including:

    Reinstall windows- didn't work

Reset the CMOS- Didn't work, but this time it says Verifying DMI Pool Data......Update Success then nothing.

Tried only one ram stick (I have 4 gigs)- got the update success thing again

Checked boot settings and checked drive settings- everything was right.

    Any suggestions? Thank you.

I know you said you did this but just humor me and check again.

Go into the bios and confirm the drive is seen and reported correctly
In the bios check your boot order and make sure the hard drive is listed

After the verifying dmi pool data you are most likely ending up with a flashing cursor in the upper left part of the screen. This indicates no master boot record.

I would boot up on a floppy or cd and look at the drive contents. Do you see files and directories?
Download the drive manufacturers utilities and run them to see if the drive is good.
