Computer taking forever scanning for spyware using Adaware

    Why? Its been 25mins now and still not done. Only 1 spyware reconized so far, but it cant be this brutally slow.

    The new version is a lot slower but much deeper scan so slower.

    Definitely not that long. I have the new version and it only took a couple minutes to scan both my drives.

    One tip for using any spyware scanner, turn off the background virus scanner. It makes the scans go many times faster. :)

    Try to scan it 3-4 days a week or everyday, that should help.

    Did you do a full system scan or a smart scan? Theres a big difference. The full system scan can take some time, but find things the smart scan won't.

    im using lavasoft adaware professional edition, so im guessing its full scan.

    Deep scanning (or full scanning) is on Ad-aware Home Edition. It takes ages depending on how thorough you want Ad-aware to search.
